Solutions Dialogue: Jakarta, Indonesia

The PPCA’s second Regional Solutions Dialogue was held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 5th September 2024.

It was a high-level, closed door discussion of the Coal Transition Commission, co-hosted at the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum by the governments of Indonesia and France in partnership with the PPCA and Bloomberg Philanthropies, focused on early retirement of coal power plants: opportunities, challenges, and lessons learnt.

  • What are the biggest challenges to accelerating coal transitions in Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific? How to overcome them? 
  • How can the international community and the private sector support the acceleration of coal transitions? What are the lessons learnt from coal transition programmes such as the Just Energy Transition Partnerships (JETPs)?
